What is JuTe and Tai Chi?
JuTe and Tai Chi Senior Fitness is a unique martial arts program that combines the principles of JuTe, Tai Chi and Qigong. Together, they create a holistic approach to health and vitality, particularly beneficial for seniors.
JuTe was developed by Dr. Balfour Wright, Hanshi. The system is partially derived from the Qi Gong aspects of the internal art of Goju Ryu Karate and Tai-chi. For those who are not familiar with internal martial arts (also known as (Neijing), it refers to Chinese martial arts that focus on the internal (spiritual, mental or Qi) energy as opposed to external martial arts that emphasize physical strength, strong explosive movements, and agility such as Kung Fu & Karate. The flowing, soft elements of the traditional Tai Chi 24 Forms are incorporated in the JuTe system emphasizing the movements and deep breathing elements of Qi Gong and Goju Ryu.
Tai Chi Qi Gong is often described as "meditation in motion," but it might well be called "medication in motion." There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating or preventing many common health issues. Such as your balance, physical strength, stamina, flexibility and mental acuity.
You can get started even if you aren't in top shape or the best of health. In this low- impact, slow-motion exercise program. The practitioners go without pausing through a series of motions named for animal actions for example, "white crane spreads its' wings."

Our JuTe and Tai Chi Senior Fitness program is not a traditional Tai Chi program. It's easily adapted for anyone, from the most fit to people confined to wheelchairs or recovering from surgery.
